Politics has intensified in Karnataka regarding the amount of Griha Lakshmi Scheme. BJP leader and leader of opposition in the Assembly R Ashok has made serious allegations against the government for not receiving the amount for February-March. Not only this, he has warned the Siddaramaiah government of the state and announced that BJP will protest across the state against not getting the funds for Griha Laxmi Yojana for the months of February and March. Also, calling the Hate Speech and Hate Crime Bill an attack on freedom of expression, he said that he would appeal to the Governor not to approve it.

While talking to journalists in Bengaluru, the BJP leader said that the people of North Karnataka had high expectations from the winter session held in Belagavi, but the government did not announce any big package for there. On the contrary, funds were cut. Let us tell you that Griha Lakshmi Yojana is one of the five guarantee schemes of the state government, under which Rs 2,000 per month is given to the female head of the economically weaker section.

Question on the amount of Griha Laxmi Yojana


During this, Ashok alleged that an amount of about Rs 5,000 crore was not given to the beneficiaries for the months of February and March. He said that the government hid this thing. The Finance Department suppressed it. The question is whether the government did not have money in the last financial year and if not, why was the truth hidden?

Ashok said that if the government had money, it would definitely have given it. Either the government wants to cheat the people or it does not have money. He told that during the assembly session, BJP waited for the reply of Women and Child Development Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar for three days, because 1.26 crore families are waiting for this amount. He alleged that this is a big scam. The minister has not said a word on this till date.

BJP will continue protest- Ashok

During this, Ashok also said that BJP will continue the protest until the beneficiaries do not get the money. He claimed that the party had received information from 8-10 districts, but when information was sought from other districts, the ministers threatened officials with not giving the details.

Objection expressed on hate speech bill

Along with this, while speaking on Hate Speech and Hate Crime Bill, Ashok said that it was passed hastily without discussion in both the Houses. He alleged that this law will take away people’s freedom of expression. You will not be able to make cartoons, expose scams. Ashok said that this bill is not in the interest of the public and its purpose is to suppress the opposition. People will not be able to speak openly about their problems, increasing crime and corruption.
