In Uttar Pradesh, there was severe cold at some places on Tuesday and dense fog at some places affected the traffic. On Tuesday, there was no sunshine in most areas of the Terai till noon. On Wednesday too, the day started with fog and mist in many districts. The Meteorological Department has declared orange alert of dense fog for 18 districts of Terai for Wednesday. Also, there is a possibility of cold day i.e. a huge drop in temperature during the day for 20 districts. Due to dense fog, visibility became zero in Prayagraj, Varanasi, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Agra, Bareilly, Saharanpur, Ghaziabad on Tuesday morning.

Whereas 20 meters in Amethi, Farrukhabad, 40 meters in Ballia and Sonbhadra. 50 meter visibility was recorded in Lucknow and Ayodhya. Atul Kumar Singh, senior scientist of Zonal Meteorological Science Center, Lucknow, said that the effect of disturbance will end in UP from Wednesday, due to the snowfall on the mountains, melting westerlies will occur and the night temperature will drop by 2 to 3 degrees. There is no sign of any significant change in the day temperature. Along with this, the density of fog will also reduce in most areas of the state in the next two days.
