Draft voter lists were published on Tuesday in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Names of about 95 lakh voters have been removed from the draft list in these three states and one union territory.
Of the more than 2.78 crore voters in Kerala, 24.08 lakh names have been removed. Whereas in Chhattisgarh, out of total 2.12 crore voters, names of 27.34 lakh have been excluded from the draft list, while in Madhya Pradesh, out of 5.74 crore voters, 42.74 lakh names have been excluded from the draft list. Out of total 3.10 lakh voters in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, names of about 64 thousand are not in the draft list.
The Election Commission has clarified that voters whose names have been removed from the draft list can still apply for re-inclusion. The final voter list will be released on 14 February 2026 and the final decision on it will be taken by the Electoral Registration Officer.
More than 24 lakh names removed in Kerala
The draft voter list prepared under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list in Kerala was published by the Election Commission on Tuesday, from which the names of more than 24 lakh voters have been removed. After completion of the counting phase of special intensive revision, 2,54,42,352 voters have been included in the draft list, while names of 24,08,503 voters have been deleted.
Of the names deleted, 6,49,885 are dead voters, 6,45,548 voters could not be traced and 8,16,221 voters were identified as permanently shifted from their registered address. Additionally, 1,36,029 ‘duplicate’ voters and 1,60,830 voters falling under other categories were identified.
Before the revision process began, there were 2,78,50,855 voters in Kerala’s voter list. The percentage of names removed from the voter list is 8.65. Objections and complaints related to the draft list can be submitted till January 22 and the final voter list will be published on February 21.
Madhya Pradesh statistics
The Election Commission on Tuesday released the draft voter list of Madhya Pradesh. Names of 42.74 lakh voters have been removed from the SIR voter list released by the Commission. According to the data released by the State Election Commission, out of total 5 crore 74 lakh 6 thousand 143 electors in the state, 5 crore 31 lakh 31 thousand 983 electors have submitted their counting forms. More than 42 lakh names have been removed from the draft list. In that, 31.51 lakh voters shifted or were found absent. And 8.46 lakh voters were found dead. Apart from this, names of 2.77 lakh voters were found at more than one place.
Madhya Pradesh Election Commission has clarified that there were some electors from whom counting forms could not be received. There were many reasons behind this. Registration of the voter in another state, non-existence of the person, not submitting the form by the deadline or the voter himself not taking interest in registration. Further, electors found enrolled at more than one place will be named at one place only.

Names of 27.34 lakh voters removed in Chhattisgarh
Detailed details of deletion of a large number of names have come to light during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list in Chhattisgarh. Out of the total 2.12 crore voters in the state, names of 27.34 lakh voters have been removed from the draft voter list.
Under the SIR process, enrollment forms were collected from a total of 1 crore 84 lakh 95 thousand 920 voters. According to the State Election Commission, the deaths of 6 lakh 42 thousand 234 voters were confirmed during the investigation. Apart from this, 19 lakh 13 thousand 540 voters were found transferred or absent, while 1 lakh 79 thousand 43 voters were found whose names were registered in the voter list at more than one place.
64 thousand names removed from draft list in Andaman and Nicobar
After the SIR campaign conducted in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the draft voter list has been published. Out of total 3.10 lakh voters in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, names of about 64 thousand are not in the draft list. Out of total 3 lakh 10 thousand 404 forms, 2 lakh 46 thousand 390 enumeration forms were recovered. According to the draft list, 9191 voters were found dead, 51906 voters shifted out, there were 2917 voters whose names were found twice in the voter list.
