The Election Commission has started the process of SIR in the state ahead of the West Bengal Assembly elections next year. So far, names of 58 lakh people have been removed in the SIR process in West Bengal. It is noteworthy that till October 27, out of 7.66 crore voters, only 7.08 crore voters were included in the draft voter list.
