Komalpreet doesn’t even get a diet as per her sports. The situation was so bad that when he had to go to Thailand to participate in the World Championship, he had no money. Uncle and other relatives collected money but it did not work out. Then former MLA Simarjit Singh Bains gave assistance of Rs 50 thousand. By doing this she reached Thailand and returned as a champion.
Komalpreet’s age is 21 years and her weight is 63 kg. She participated in the World Championship held in Thailand from 25 to 27 November. She power lifted 350 kg weight in the raw category of junior category and became the world champion.

Started the game in 2022, became world champion in 3 years Komalpreet Kaur told that at school level she used to participate in competitions like kick boxing, kho-kho and taekwondo. When she went to Government College for Girls for graduation, weight lifting coach Sandeep Kaur inspired her to take up power-lifting. Then his weight was 48 kg. Started practicing and started winning one competition after another.
Played at state level for the first time in 2023 and won gold medal. Till now, he has participated in seven competitions at the state level, out of which he has won 4 gold and 3 silver medals. Participated in the National Championship in 2024 and became the National Champion by winning the gold medal. Now in 2025 she became world champion by winning the gold medal.

Lifts 420 kg in equipped and 350 kg in raw power. Komalpreet told that there are two parts of power lifting. One equipped and the other raw. In equipped, weight lifting is done wearing a kit. In this she has power lifted up to 420 kg. Whereas in Raw, weight lifting is done wearing similar costumes. In this she has lifted up to 350 kg. In Thailand also, he power lifted 350 kg in the same category.
Komalpreet’s struggle to become world champion, know:
- Father works in a factory: Komalpreet Kaur’s father works in a factory and earns 15 to 20 thousand rupees per month. Along with studies, Komalpreet is promising in sports also. When Komalpreet decided to take up power lifting, her family also gave her permission.
- Non-veg available only for two days: Komalpreet started power lifting game and found out that diet plays a big role in it and she will have to eat non-veg at least six days a week. When the coach gave a diet plan, it was difficult for the family to follow it. The family tried their best but they are able to give him non-veg only two days a week.
- Couldn’t start protein diet: The coach had advised her to take protein but she could not start it even after becoming the world champion. The reason behind this is the financial constraints of his family. Komal’s complete diet costs Rs 10,000 per month. It is not possible for the family to spend so much money on his diet.
- Did not lose courage: Despite not completing his diet, he did not lose courage. After district level, won state and then national level. Last month, when I had to participate in the World Championship, I had no money to go to Thailand. Despite all the shortcomings, he maintained his courage and won.
- When I wanted to do a job, my family stopped me: Komalpreet told that when her father remains ill, there is also the expense of his medicines. In such a situation, he decided to do a job after graduation but his family refused and asked him to focus on his game. It was only because of the encouragement from her family that she was able to become world champion today.
- Coach Sandeep Kaur gave free coaching: Komalpreet Kaur says that the biggest challenge before her was regarding the coach and his fees but she got Sandeep Kaur as a good coach. He gave coaching for free. When he had to gain weight, he also made arrangements for his diet.

Komal’s academic record is also excellent Along with her sports record, Komalpreet Kaur’s academic record is also excellent. Scored 99.9 percent marks in 10th class. Due to Covid the merit list was not made that year. Got fourth position in the entire state with 98.8 percent marks in class 12th. Scored 89 percent marks in graduation and is currently pursuing master’s degree in Physical Education from GNA University, Phagwara.
