To get a job in big tech companies like Google, Microsoft, Meta, people need a big degree like B.Tech, M.Tech. Every year lakhs of youth in India appear for JEE exam and only a few of them are able to get admission in institutes like IITs. Indian tech company Zoho is giving jobs to youth without any degree. The company’s chief and co-founder Sridhar Vembu has said this. Besides, he has also given special advice to Indian parents.
Advice given to parents
Zoho’s Chief Scientist and Co-Founder Sridhar Vembu has commented on the conversation on social media platform X about the hiring approach of US-based firm Palantir. He said in his post that smart American students are no longer going to college and forward-thinking employers are helping them. This is a profound cultural shift. It is actually ‘youth power’, which enables them to stand on their own feet and that too without incurring huge debt to obtain the degree. This trend will change the way they see the world and it will change culture and politics.
Will you get a job without a degree?
In his post, he told Indian parents and high school goers that big companies should take care of this. Sridhar Vembu further said that no college degree is required to get a job in Zoho. If a manager posts a job that requires a degree, they ask HR to remove the degree requirement. While sharing his experience, Sridhar Vembu said that in Tenkasi, he had worked with a technical team with an age group of 19 years and their energy was very high. He had to work very hard to match it.
