England’s top run scorer Joe Root finally scored a Test century in Australia too. On Thursday, he completed his century on 181 balls at The Gabba Stadium in Brisbane. This was the 40th century of his Test career, but he could achieve this feat for the first time in Australia.
Root has scored 59 centuries in his international career. On the first day of the second Test of the Ashes, England scored 325 runs after losing 9 wickets. Apart from Root, opener Jack Crawley scored 76 runs. Left arm pacer Mitchell Starc took 6 wickets for the home team.
