A family in Karnal was defrauded of lakhs of rupees in the name of sending them to Russia on a work permit.

A case of extortion of Rs 3.50 lakh from a family on the pretext of sending them abroad and their son being badly harassed in Russia has come to light in Assandh, Karnal. The young man was sent on a tourist visa instead of a work permit, where the police caught him as soon as his visa expired.

After which the young man had to return to India after a lot of difficulties. The family alleges that now instead of returning the money, the accused is issuing threats and saying that the police cannot do any harm to him.

Geeta Colony resident Chanchal Devi appealed

Assandh resident woman Chanchal has told in her complaint to the police that her son Harsh was fond of going abroad. Meanwhile, Balwan Singh Fauji, resident of Kasturi Singh Colony, living in the village, told him about a five-year work permit in Russia. According to Chanchal, he gave a total of Rs 3 lakh 50 thousand to Balwan Singh by giving Rs 1 lakh online and Rs 2 lakh 50 thousand in cash. The accused sent his son on a tourist visa instead of a work permit.

Youth exploited in Russia, police picked him up several times

As soon as the young man reached Russia, he told that in the name of currency exchange there, the accused collected another Rs 32 thousand. As soon as the visa expired, the Russian police caught him and released him after taking 20 thousand rubles. Chanchal Devi says that when she talked to Balwan Singh about this, he kept avoiding it again and again. After a few days, the police again picked up the young man and released him with 10 thousand rubles.

When the young man got worried and called the accused, he threatened that if he called again and again, he would get him killed on the spot.

After preliminary investigation on the complaint, Assandh police station has registered a case. The investigation of the case has been handed over to ASI Pawan. Police said that further action is going on based on the investigation.

Complaint in DSP office, Panchayat held

Chanchal Devi gave a complaint to DSP Assandh on 24 October. After this the accused called the Panchayat. In the Panchayat, the accused wrote the accounts with his own hands and promised to return Rs 4 lakh 75 thousand. But just an hour after the Panchayat ended, he went back on his word. He abused and threatened to do whatever he wants, I have bought the police.

Police sent young man to jail for the third time, passport also confiscated

After this, young man Harsh Ko was picked up by the police in Russia for the third time and kept in jail for three days. According to Chanchal Devi, she was tortured a lot by the Russian police. He was kept hungry, thrown in the snow and beaten.

The Russian police said that either he should pay 1 lakh rubles, or he would be sent to the Russian army. The family was forced to give 70 thousand rubles by mortgaging the gold ornaments and then called him back to India with a ticket worth 35 thousand rupees. Had to pay a fine of Rs 7 thousand at Delhi Airport also. Overall, the family claims that Rs 6 lakh was spent on the young man and his life was in danger.
