Chief Advisor to the Interim Government of Bangladesh, Mohammad Yunus inquired about the health of seriously ill former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia. Mohammad Yunus on Wednesday met former Prime Minister and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chief Khaleda Zia, who was admitted to a private hospital in the capital Dhaka. He remained in the hospital for about half an hour and appealed to the family and party leaders to maintain patience.
“The head of the medical board briefed him on Khaleda Zia’s complete condition. It was informed that experts from two top US hospitals as well as doctors from Britain, China and other countries are monitoring her treatment,” Yunus’ press wing said in a statement after his visit to Evercare Hospital. The statement said that he has assured all kinds of government help (for Jiya).
Mohammad Yunus’ visit came just a day after tri-service chiefs General Walker uz Zaman, Admiral M Nazmul Hasan and Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood visited the hospital and met Khaleda Zia. Khaleda Zia is undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital for the last 11 days. It is known that the health of three-time Prime Minister of Bangladesh and BNP President Khaleda Zia is still in critical condition. Zia, admitted in Dhaka’s Evercare Hospital, is undergoing treatment under the special supervision of doctors.
No concrete update on health

However, party’s Standing Committee member and Jiah’s personal doctor AZM Zahid Hussain said on Tuesday that Jiah, admitted in CCU since November 27, is responding well to the treatment. According to media reports, Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a second medical team of four experts, while a few hours before that, four British doctors had also reached Dhaka.
