The country’s aviation regulatory body, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), has started an investigation into the continuous delays and cancellations of IndiGo airline flights. DGCA has said that it is closely reviewing the situation and considering such steps which can reduce the inconvenience to the passengers.

DGCA asked for complete details from Indigo
In a statement issued by DGCA, it was said that IndiGo has been directed to present complete details of the reasons for the current disruptions. Along with this, the airline has also been asked what steps it is taking to improve the situation.
Airline will have to explain the reason for cancellation and further plans
The regulator made it clear that the airline will not only have to explain the reasons but will also have to explain what its plan is to ensure that this does not happen again. In view of the increasing complaints from air passengers and the videos and reactions emerging on social media, DGCA is taking this matter seriously.

Strict steps will be taken if necessary – DGCA
Indigo is considered to be India’s leading airline in the aviation sector. In such a situation, passengers are facing problems due to frequent disturbances in its flights – many passengers had to wait for hours, while some flights were also canceled suddenly. DGCA said it is keeping a close watch on the situation and will take strict action if necessary to ensure timely flight operations and maintain passenger confidence.
Total 1232 flights of Indigo canceled
IndiGo presented a summary of recent operations – a total of 1232 flights were canceled during the period. A large proportion of these cancellations were due to crew/FDTL compliance and airport/airfield/ATC related factors, many of which are beyond the operator’s direct control. The Civil Aviation Ministry said that the total OTP in November was 67.70%, while in October it was 84.1%.
