7 Naxalites were killed and two soldiers were also martyred in an encounter in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. There was an encounter between security forces and Naxalites in Naxal affected Bijapur district. Police officials gave this information on Wednesday (December 3). He told that firing is going on between security forces and Naxalites in the forest of West Bastar Division in the district. On receiving information about Naxalite activity in the forest of West Bastar Division, a joint team of District Reserve Guard, STF and Central Reserve Police Force was sent and after seeing this team, Naxalites started firing on it.
Giving information, Bastar IG P. Sundarraj said, “In the joint operation of DRG Dantewada-Bijapur, STF, CRPF and CoBRA teams, 7 Naxalites were killed in the West Bastar divisional area on the Bijapur-Dantewada inter-district border.” 2 soldiers were martyred and 1 was injured in the line of duty.
