If you use Android phone then Google can help you. If you repeatedly enter the wrong password, the phone gives you the option of ‘Forgot Password’ or ‘Forgot Pattern’. By clicking on this option, you can reset the phone from your Google Account. Simply login with the same Gmail ID that was already linked to your phone.
After logging in, the phone will be factory reset and then you will be able to setup it like a new device. Keep in mind that your old data may get deleted in this process, so backup is definitely necessary.
If Find My Device feature is on in the phone, then you can unlock or completely reset your phone from any other smartphone or laptop. Simply visit the website, login to your account and select the Erase Device option. This will remove the password and the phone will start like new.
If the matter is of iPhone and you have forgotten the passcode then do not panic. Apple’s Find My iPhone feature will help you. Open iCloud.com on another device and sign in with your Apple ID. Here select your iPhone in ‘All Devices’ and click on Erase iPhone. This will unlock your phone and you will be able to set it with the new passcode.
Some people also use unlock tool through computer. Many phone brands provide their official PC software apps through which you can reset the phone. This method is a bit technical but there is no need to go to the service center.
To ensure that such problem does not happen again in future, it is important to write down the password and keep it somewhere safe or use Google Password Manager. Also, set options like OTP based backup unlock, fingerprint and face unlock.
