The Supreme Court has allowed a pregnant woman from Bangladesh and her eight-year-old daughter to enter India on humanitarian grounds. It has been told that this woman was sent across the border to Bangladesh a few months ago.
The Supreme Court bench comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi on Wednesday directed the West Bengal government to take care of the child and asked the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Birbhum district to provide all possible medical assistance to the pregnant woman Sunali Khatoon.
