President Putin spoke with US Special Representative on the Ukraine War Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.
There was a five-hour meeting on Tuesday between President Putin and US special envoy to Russia Steve Witkoff and President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner on the Ukraine war.
Even after such a long meeting, both the parties did not reach any agreement. Putin’s foreign policy advisor Yuri Ushakov said that the talks were fruitful, but no proposal has yet emerged on which an agreement can be reached. Putin clearly says that there will be no agreement until Ukraine hands over the Donbass area to Russia.
Ushakov said that Putin agreed with some parts of the US peace proposal, but showed clear dislike on many things. According to him, more work needs to be done on many issues.
Putin-Trump meeting not fixed
Ushakov also said that at present no new meeting between Putin and Trump is scheduled and further it will depend on how much development takes place on the peace plan.
While these talks were going on, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on social media that Ukraine is waiting for a gesture from the US delegation.
He said that after the talks, US officials will directly tell Ukraine what happened in the meeting and only then Ukraine will decide its next step.
A Ukrainian official said that he had an idea in advance what Putin’s attitude would be. They will agree on some things and strongly object to others. Now the real question is how America responds to this.

Putin had said- we do not want war
Just before this meeting, Putin accused Europe of making such changes in America’s peace plan that the talks could not move forward. Putin also said that Russia does not want war, but if Europe wants to start a war, Russia is ready.
On the other hand, the White House had said before the meeting that they hoped that some development could happen from the talks. US officials recently met with Ukrainian representatives in Florida, where several changes to the peace plan were discussed.
It is being told that the current peace plan has been made by improving the earlier 28-point plan, because the old plan was said by Ukraine and European countries to be in favor of Russia.
Zelensky said – will make all kinds of diplomatic efforts
Zelensky is also talking to European countries at this time. He met French President Emmanuel Macron and is going to meet the Prime Minister of Ireland after reaching Ireland. He says that Ukraine is taking any diplomatic efforts very seriously and is trying its best to provide a strong peace and security guarantee.
He also said that Russia is trying to spread confusion before peace so that other countries can be influenced.
This was the sixth meeting this year between Witkoff and Putin. Despite so many efforts, no concrete agreement has been reached so far. The US and Ukraine remain hopeful that talks will move forward, while Putin remains adamant that Ukraine must withdraw from areas that Russia considers its part.
