Controversy Escalates Over The Mandatory Licensing Requirement At Ajmer Dargah; Sarwar Chishti Says – Ajmer News – Ajmer: Controversy over mandatory license in Dargah heated up, Sarwar Chishti said

Ajmer Dargah Committee’s decision to make license mandatory for the servants conducting ‘Jiyarat’ at the Dargah of Khwaja Garib Nawaz has created a big controversy. Syed Sarwar Chishti, Secretary of Anjuman Syed Jadgan, has lodged a strong protest against this new system which is being implemented on the basis of the instructions of the Central Government and the Court. Describing this decision as Tughlaqi’s order, he has clearly said that the Khadim community will not accept this order under any circumstances.

Let us tell you that Dargah Nazim Mohammad Bilal Khan has started the license application process for conducting Ziyarat by issuing advertisement on 1st December. The last date has been fixed as 5 January 2026. Nazim says that this step is completely in accordance with the rules, court instructions and administrative procedure, which will not affect anyone’s interests. But as soon as the order was issued, a wave of protest ran in the Dargah.

In the meeting organized against the order, Syed Sarwar Chishti made serious allegations against the Nazim. He said that the appointment of the Nazim itself is illegal and the existence of the Dargah Committee is also under doubt. These Tughlaq orders will not work. He also alleged that the Nazim has tried to humiliate the Khadim community by implementing orders without discussion and dialogue.

Syed Sarwar Chishti said that there is a clear provision in the Act that maintenance arrangements should be ensured for the poor servants, but the Dargah Committee does not do anything in this direction. The register of keys has been missing for a year and bullying is being done here,” he said. Warning that only a few people came to our meeting today, but if we raised our voice, 10 thousand Khadim would fill the Dargah. We have lakhs of followers, our tolerance should not be considered as weakness.”

Sarwar Chishti also alleged that every year such orders are deliberately issued before the Urs so as to create disruption in the arrangements. “Urs is near and now a new brouhaha has been created. The Khadim community is not weak. It would be a big mistake to take us lightly. On the other hand, Collector Lokbandhu, SP Vandita Rana and other officials also heard Chishti’s complaints while taking stock of the Urs arrangements.

While placing the demand of action against the Nazim before the administration, Chishti said that the Dargah Committee is trying to act as per its wish, whereas there is no direct mention of such order anywhere in the Ministry or the rules. This controversy, which started regarding the licensing system in the Dargah, has become a big issue before the Urs. It remains to be seen how the administration resolves this tension and whether any new initiative is taken keeping in mind the objections of the employees.
