Already 1.5 crore people have downloaded

According to official data, even before the order was issued, 1.5 crore people had downloaded the Sanchar Sathi app. In the order issued on November 28, all mobile companies have been instructed to pre-install this app in all new and old phones.

What is the government order?

According to the Department of Telecommunications’ order dated November 28, all companies selling phones in India will have to pre-install the Sanchar Sathi app on their phones. Whereas even in old devices, it will be mandatory to provide the app through software update. Companies have to ensure that the app is visible to the user as soon as he turns on the phone for the first time. Manufacturers cannot claim compliance by hiding or disabling the app. Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia clarified that the user can also uninstall the app if he wants. Companies have been given 90 days to implement it.
