The five-day meetings of the World Economic Forum (WEF) are starting in Davos from Monday. A glimpse of the unity in diversity of India will be seen in these meetings. Rich and powerful people of the world will gather in WEF from Monday. This time India is sending its largest ever contingent to Davos. The Indian delegation includes five Union Ministers, three Chief Ministers and several state ministers, along with around 100 chief executive officers (CEOs), luminaries from government, civil society and the fields of art and culture.

Union Minister Vaishnav will lead the Indian team
Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav will lead the Indian delegation. Before leaving for Davos, he said, ‘There is a lot of interest in understanding our thought process at the World Economic Forum, the economic policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, digital transformation and the way India has created a new digital infrastructure under the Digital India programme. ‘ The Indian delegation will also include four other Union ministers C R Patil, Chirag Paswan, Jayant Chaudhary and K Ram Mohan Naidu who will attend the meeting.
CMs of these states will also go
Apart from these, Chief Ministers of Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Devendra Fadnavis, N Chandrababu Naidu and A Revanth Reddy respectively will also attend the meeting. Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, TRB Raja of Tamil Nadu, Kerala’s P Rajeev and senior ministers of several other states will also be present at the Davos meeting. Maharashtra government aims to sign memorandum of understanding (MoU) worth Rs 7 lakh crore at the WEF annual meeting. Meanwhile, Telangana Chief Minister Reddy is looking for his share of the investment along with his cabinet colleague D Sridhar Babu and senior officials.
Will have to face global economic challenges this year
Ahead of the meeting, a survey of chief economists around the world said they expect global economic conditions to weaken in 2025. However, India’s growth rate will remain the fastest despite weakening. The World Economic Forum said the global economy will face significant challenges in 2025. 56 percent of the chief economists surveyed expected the conditions to weaken. Only 17 percent of economists believed that the situation would improve. According to the survey, the US economy is expected to register strong growth in 2025. South Asia, especially India, will also maintain strong growth momentum. The world’s top 60 political leaders, including US President-elect Donald Trump, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, will address the WEF meeting.
