Opposition furious over Sanchar Sathi app
On the instructions of the Communications Department to pre-install Sanchar Sathi app on mobile handsets, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, ‘This is a spying app. Citizens have the right to privacy. Everyone should have the right to privacy to send messages to family and friends. They are turning this country into a dictatorship in every way. Parliament is not functioning because the government is refusing to talk on anything. It is very easy to blame the opposition. They are not allowing anything to be discussed. A healthy democracy demands discussion.

‘Accept the notice of opposition’
Congress MP Imran Masood said, ‘We want the government to accept the notices of the opposition and ensure that the House runs properly. SIR is a big issue in the country. If they can discuss electoral reforms, they cannot shy away from the fact that constitutional institutions cannot discuss the Election Commission.
On the government making ‘Sanchar Sathi’ app mandatory on every smartphone, the Congress MP said, ‘Where do they want to take the country? Do they want to make it like North Korea? This is a direct attack on privacy. People need to understand the intentions of the government. First, they targeted leaders using Pegasus virus. Now they will target common people also.
