There was chaos at a wedding ceremony in Uttar Pradesh’s Unnao district on Saturday (29 November) night when the bride allegedly ran away with her lover immediately after the varmala ceremony. After which there was tension between both the sides. Police reached the spot after getting information and pacified the matter.
The girl’s father also talked to the lover and his daughter on the phone, but the girl expressed her desire to stay with the lover and did not return. After this the groom returned without the bride. There is talk in the entire village about the bride’s eloping with her lover after the rosary. The groom’s family has not yet made any written complaint in this regard.
What is the whole matter?
According to the police, a wedding procession had reached Ajaypur village, where the families of the bride and groom performed the traditional ‘Dwar Char’ and other rituals. The bride and groom garlanded each other as per tradition. Immediately after this the bride went to her room while the groom’s family got busy in other preparations.
Later, when the family members went to call the bride for the Phere ceremony, she was not found in the room. Police said that even after a lot of searching, she was not found and later the families got information that a local youth had taken the bride with him.
The bride refused to come back
It is being told that the bride’s father talked to the boy on the phone, after which the bride herself talked to her father. She expressed her desire to live with her lover and marry him. An eyewitness said that an altercation broke out between the two families, shocked by this incident, and the people from the groom’s side had to return empty handed.
Case registered against lover
The bride’s father has filed a complaint against her alleged lover at Purva police station. A senior police officer said that the matter is being investigated and action will be taken as per law.
