World Champion Indian Women’s Blind Team has met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The team reached PM residence in New Delhi with the trophy. All the players together gifted a signed bat to the PM.
India won the title of the Blind Women’s T20 World Cup played for the first time on 23 November. The team had defeated Nepal by 7 wickets in the final played in Colombo.

Team formed by selecting players from 9 states India was captained by Karnataka’s Deepika TC. 16 players were selected in the team from 9 different states of the country. These included players from Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Delhi, Assam and Bihar. The players were told about cricket through school teachers, NGOs and community campuses.

In the group stage, all the teams played 5-5 matches against each other. The semi-finals took place between the teams occupying the top 4 positions of the points table. Nepal and India, who won them, played the finals.
