During the hearing, the Supreme Court, citing the example of Rajasthan, asked the governments of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana to completely ban firecrackers in the areas around Delhi. Let us tell you that like Delhi, Rajasthan has also completely banned firecrackers in its NCR areas.

Regarding this, the court asked Uttar Pradesh and Haryana to do the same. The court argued that unless these states ban firecrackers, the earlier order of the court will remain in force till the next date of hearing, March 24.

On the lawyer’s demand for permission for green crackers, the Supreme Court asked that there should be an investigation as to how environment friendly green crackers actually are.
