Sunrisers Hyderabad team can trade Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami to Lucknow Super Giants before IPL 2026. Hyderabad had bought Shami for Rs 10 crore in the mega auction held last year, but now Shami and Hyderabad may part ways before the upcoming season. Shami is currently out of the Indian team.
Shami’s performance last season was not good
Hyderabad had made a good bid for Shami last year, but his performance was not anything special. In IPL 2025, Shami took only six wickets in nine matches at an economy of 11.23 and an average of 56.16. Shami is also out of the national team due to fitness concerns. Shami last participated in the Champions Trophy final for India in March this year.
Before the mini auction for IPL 2026, all the teams have to submit the list of retaining and releasing players. All franchises will have to release this list by November 15. A source with knowledge of Shami’s case was quoted by news agency PTI as saying, both the franchises have agreed to this trade.
