ICC has fined Pakistan 20% of match fee due to slow over rate. The Pakistani team, captained by Shaheen Afridi, bowled 4 overs late in the first ODI against Sri Lanka on 11 November in Rawalpindi.
This fine was imposed by Ali Naqvi of ICC’s match referee panel. The punishment was decided in the presence of on-field umpires Alex Wharfe and Asif Yaqoob, third umpire Sharafuddaula Ibne Shahid and fourth umpire Rashid Riaz, which was accepted by Pakistan captain Shaheen Afridi, so there was no need for a hearing.
According to Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct, a fine of 5% of the players’ match fees is imposed for every over of any team falling behind.
PAK won the first ODI by 6 runs Pakistan won the first match of the ODI series by a margin of 6 runs. With this the team took a 1-0 lead in the 3-match ODI series. Chasing the target of 300 runs in the match, the Sri Lankan team could only score 293/9 in 50 overs.
Haris Rauf took 4 wickets from Pakistan. Salman Agha played an unbeaten inning of 103 runs on 83 balls and Hussain Talat played an inning of 58 runs, taking Pakistan’s score to 299.
PCB changed the schedule of the tri-series The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday changed the schedule of the T20 tri-series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. According to the new schedule, this series will now start from November 18 instead of November 17. Its second match will also be played a day later on 20th November.
Apart from this, it has also been decided to organize all the matches of the tournament in Rawalpindi. PCB said in a statement: ‘The decision to make changes to the schedule has been taken after discussions with State of Cricket (SLC) and Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC).’
