US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Wednesday that his country had offered help to India in the investigation of Delhi bomb blast. Praising the Indian investigative agencies, Rubio said, ‘Their investigating officers are very professional and fully capable of investigating. They don’t need our help.

Speaking to reporters in Canada after the G-7 foreign ministers’ meeting, Rubio said, ‘We have offered help, but I think they are very capable of investigating these types of incidents. They don’t need our help, and they are doing well.

12 people died in Delhi blast

On November 10, 12 people were killed and dozens were injured in a car explosion near the Red Fort in the Indian capital Delhi. The Indian government has considered it a terrorist attack and security agencies have started a large-scale investigation. Forensic teams and anti-terror units are continuously examining the evidence and officials are trying to find out the motive behind the attack and those responsible for it.

The US Embassy in New Delhi also showed solidarity with India and issued a statement condemning the Red Fort car blast. US Ambassador to India Sergio Gore said in a social media post on November 11, ‘Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who died in the horrific explosion in New Delhi. Jaishankar and Rubio met in Canada

Earlier, Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar also met US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the sidelines of the G-7 Foreign Ministers’ meeting. The two leaders discussed several bilateral and global issues, including the recent blast near the Red Fort in Delhi. In a post on Twitter, Jaishankar said he appreciated Rubio’s condolences on the loss of lives in the Delhi blasts.
