Disadvantages of immersion rod

If an iron or steel bucket is used or the rod is taken out of the water without turning off the switch, there is a great danger of electrocution. These usually do not have auto-cut off or temperature control, which poses a risk of boiling water and wasting electricity. You have to keep a constant eye on the rod and it can take longer to heat water than a geyser.
So which is better between immersion rod and geyser?
If safety, convenience and capacity are your main priorities and your budget is good then geyser is a better option. If your budget is limited and you just need to heat some water or you are in a rented house where permanent installation is not possible then you can use immersion rods, but with utmost caution. You should always use a plastic bucket and touch the rod only after turning off the power switch.
