Defense cooperation between India and Israel has strengthened. Under the recent agreement, Israel will provide three powerful missiles to India, which will also be manufactured in India. India bought 34% of Israel’s defense sales in 2020-24. The deal will enhance India’s aerospace and cruise missile capabilities, which are effective against both land and sea targets.

Israel will provide three new missiles to India under a recent agreement. With this, defense cooperation between the two countries will further strengthen and reach new heights. Last week, the Defense Secretaries of both the countries have signed an important MoU to strengthen defense cooperation between Israel and India. For this, a delegation of the Indian Defense Ministry had secretly gone to Israel.

The deal took place during a secret visit of a delegation of the Indian Defense Ministry to Israel. Under this, Israel will hand over its three powerful missiles to India. These missiles will also be manufactured in India. India is the largest buyer of Israel’s defense exports.

India bought about 34 percent of defense sales

Between 2020 and 2024, India alone purchased about 34 percent of Israel’s total defense sales. According to the report of Jerusalem Post, under this MoU, India will not only be able to purchase Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) Air Laura ballistic missiles and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems ice breaker cruise missiles, but will also be able to manufacture them. India is also taking interest in Ice Breaker Cruise Missile, its range is about 300 km. It operates on both land and sea targets, remaining effective even in electronic warfare situations.
