23-year-old Indian bowler Harshit Rana has been the target of critics in the last months. Former cricketer Chris Srikkanth had even said that Harshit remained in Team India only because of Gautam Gambhir’s presence. He silenced his critics by taking 4 wickets in the last ODI against Australia.
Harshit was especially targeted because he was a player of KKR, Gautam Gambhir has also been the mentor of this IPL team. Now Manvinder Bisla, who played for Kolkata Knight Riders, has given a big statement about Harshit.
There is no uncle-aunt relationship…
During the discussion on Indian Cricket Canteen Podcast, Manvinder Bisla said that there is no uncle or maternal uncle relationship between Harshit Rana and Gautam Gambhir. He said, “Those who are trolling Harshit Rana must not be KKR fans. Everyone believes that Gautam Gambhir has previously worked for KKR, that is why Gambhir is supporting Harshit. There is no uncle-uncle relationship. Everyone thinks that Harshit is in the team because of the KKR connection.”
Harshit Rana made his international cricket debut in November 2024 in the match against Australia. After that he has taken a total of 25 wickets in 8 ODIs, five T20s and 2 Test matches.
He has also impressed in batting on Australia tour. In the third ODI match, he played an unbeaten inning of 24 runs. In the second T20 match, he demonstrated his batting skills strongly by playing an innings of 35 runs.
