The first phase of the first national sports competition organized by the Indian Education Board has ended. Young players from schools of more than 50 states from across the country showed their strength through wrestling here. This event full of zeal and enthusiasm was not only inspiring for the sports lovers, but Swami Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna also praised the players. In the closing ceremony, the winners were honored with medals, trophies and citations.
The second day of the competition was exciting since the morning. In the Under-17 Free Style Boys Wrestling, a player from Patanjali Gurukulam Haridwar won, while Gurukul Kishangarh Ghasera, Haryana stood second. Similarly, in Under-17 Greco Roman Style Boys Wrestling, Patanjali Gurukulam Haridwar became the winner and Gurukul Kishangarh Ghasera won the silver medal. Apart from these, children from Acharyakulam, GSS International School Agra and other institutions also proved their talent. Overall, students from more than 150 local schools participated as spectators in the competition, making the atmosphere even more exciting.
Children will bring glory to India globally – Acharya Balkrishna
In the closing ceremony, Patanjali Yogpeeth General Secretary Acharya Balkrishna personally introduced the players and blessed them. He said, “Looking at the enthusiasm of these youth, it seems that in the future, these children will bring glory to India not only in the country but also at the global level. Through sports, they will become physically and mentally strong.” Acharya Balkrishna stressed that such competitions develop discipline and team spirit among the youth.
Swami Ramdev also encouraged the players. He announced that a modern indoor stadium will soon be ready in Acharyakulam. Baba Ramdev said, “This stadium will become the center of not only national but also international level sports competitions. Our aim is to provide equal opportunities to rural and urban youth,”

He said, “This competition is an initiative of the Indian Education Board, which focuses on making sports an integral part of education. This first phase was completed in Haridwar, while the second phase will be in Agra, the third in Lucknow and the concluding phase in Jaipur.
According to the organizers, more sports disciplines will be included in the next phases, so that more and more children can benefit. This competition proved that sports is not only entertainment but also a strong medium of nation building. This enthusiasm of young players is infusing new energy into the sports sector of the country.
