Takaichi had said in Parliament on Friday that if Taiwan is attacked, Japan can send troops in self-defense. He said, ‘A war situation in Taiwan would be a threat to Japan.’ Despite the threat, Takaichi refused to withdraw his statement in Parliament on Monday.
