Actress Renuka Shahane, who has appeared in blockbuster films like Hum Aapke Hain Koun, has recently talked about the strange proposal when a producer had offered her to live together in exchange of making her a brand ambassador. The actress told that at this time her mother was also present and she was stunned to hear such a proposal.
Recently, in an interview given to Zoom, Renuka Shahane talked about the strange experiences of women in the film industry. While sharing an incident that happened with him during this time, he told that years ago a producer, who was married, had come to his house. He was associated with a saree brand. He asked Renuka to become the brand ambassador of his company, then they discussed the stipend. After this the producer told the actress, ‘I will give you so much money, but then you will have to live with me.’
The actress further said, ‘My mother and I were stunned to hear this. There is no shame.’ Renuka obviously rejected that offer. On this he said, ‘What happens next is more important. After this incident, I did not get that campaign, I did not want to do it. That man must have then taken that campaign to someone else.
Renuka further said, ‘Sometimes what happens is that if you deny to a person that I cannot do this, I am not comfortable, then that person takes revenge. Others are told not to work with it. It is quite dangerous for this to happen.
The actress also said that such incidents have happened with many people. He said, ‘If you are uncomfortable doing such work, or someone on the set tries to molest you and you complain to the head, then either you are fired or everyone together harasses you. You don’t get paid.’
Renuka Shahane played the role of Salman Khan’s sister-in-law in Hum Aapke Hain Koun.
