The heat in Nepal’s politics has intensified before the general elections to be held in March next year. All small and big political parties, including Sushila Karki, who became the interim Prime Minister after the recent conflict, have intensified their preparations. Meanwhile, on Sunday, Indian Ambassador Naveen Srivastava met Nepal’s Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal regarding this election. This meeting was held at the Home Ministry in Kathmandu, in which issues related to peace, security and border cooperation between the two countries were discussed.
According to the information received after the conversation, Home Minister Aryal told Ambassador Srivastava that the priority of the government is to maintain law and order, eliminate corruption and ensure good governance. He said that the government is working day and night to conduct the elections in a peaceful and fair environment on the scheduled date of March 5, 2026.

Aryal mentioned India’s role
During this, Nepal’s Home Minister Aryal also mentioned India’s role in this election. He said India’s role is important in border security management, especially before and during the elections, as there is an open border between India and Nepal.
Ambassador Srivastava also responded
In such a situation, after listening to the words of Nepalese Home Minister, Indian Ambassador Srivastava also reacted on this. Srivastava expressed confidence to the Nepali Home Minister that the House of Representatives elections will be successfully conducted on March 5, 2026. He said that the friendly relations between India and Nepal will continue to grow, and India is committed to playing a constructive role in the successful conduct of the elections.
