Indian shooter Anish Bhanwala has won silver medal in the World Shooting Championship.

23-year-old Anish finished second with a score of 28 points in the high voltage final of 25 meter rapid fire pistol played on Sunday.

French shooter Clement Bessage won the gold medal, while Ukraine’s Maxim Horodynets got the bronze. Besage scored 31 and 25 points.

In this tournament going on in Cairo, Egypt, India is in fourth place with a total of 5 medals with the help of one gold, two silver and two bronze. Whereas China is on top with 8 medals including 4 gold.

Played World Championship final for the first time, performance was poor in Paris Olympics Anish has won the biggest medal of his career in the form of silver. He could not perform well in the Paris Olympics. He stood at 13th place.

This medal of Anish is India’s second biggest medal after the silver medal won by Vijay Kumar in the London Olympics in 2012 in the 25 meter rapid fire pistol event.
