After a long time, a tremendous comedy film Jassi Weds Jassi is coming with a tinge of laughter, which is going to be released on 7th November. The film’s actors Ranveer Shorey, Sudesh Lehri, Sikandar Kher and Harshvardhan Singh Dev told that this film is bringing a unique combination of love, relationships and comedy. These four actors have openly talked about their roles and interesting things related to the film. The film’s director Paran Pava has presented this story in a light-hearted romantic style, which has a touch of both laughter and emotion.
The film ‘Jassi Weds Jassi’ is coming full of love, romance, relationships and comedy. What is your character in the film and how did you connect with the script?
Sudesh Lehri- I must say that only ‘yes’ came out of my mouth when the film’s director Paran narrated the story to me. It was such a role that I couldn’t even say ‘no’. Not in the trailer, but when you watch the film, you will understand what I, the ‘lassi’, am doing amidst so many lassi. Apart from being a comedy film, let me tell you that the set of the film was always surrounded by a fun-filled atmosphere. We used to laugh a lot and play different types of games. Understand, we used to celebrate Diwali every day on the set. I am happy that I have been a TV person, but I got the opportunity to work with such good actors like Sikandar and Ranveer ji, I am thankful to everyone for this.
Sikandar Kher- The director of our film, Paran Bava, had been the AD of my first film. After 18 years, he came to meet me at my house and narrated the story of ‘Jassi Weds Jassi’. It is not an intense role but a light comedy, so I said ‘yes’ as soon as I read the script. What to say about those with whom I have worked in this film, Ranveer, Harshvardhan, Sudesh ji are all very fun-loving people. Didn’t realize how a humorous film is going to be made and released now. We used to sit and do improvisation regarding the scene, but Paran used to cut the scene itself. It is our film, so I am not just speaking, but we also used to hum the songs of the film after the scene was cut.
Harshvardhan Singh Dev- As is the title of the film, so is its story, but among so many Jassi, which Jassi marries which Jassi, the audience will know only after watching the film. Let me tell you that no one has a lead role in the film, rather all the characters are equal. The story takes you to the world of the 90s, where an innocent boy from a small town is searching for his beloved and then falls in love with her. I am a bit romantic in real life too, and I have brought the same thing into my performance this time. So our film is a power-packed movie, which will make you laugh and take you in a time machine to the 90s.
Ranveer Shorey- I just want to tell you that this is a completely fresh story. It won’t look like a stereotype at all. The world that Paran Paava has created in his script is what attracted me towards this film. Paran has written a wonderful story. Paran and I have worked together before, so when he approached me for his first film, I felt like a responsibility to give my best.
When audiences leave the theatre, what experience should they take with them? Is there any message given in the film?
Ranveer Shorey- I would just say laugh and laugh a lot! There is going to be so much laughter that even while talking to each other the audience will laugh and say, ‘Dude, have you seen that laughing film?’ I am sure people will like this film very much.
Sikandar Kher- Yes of course! The audience is going to enjoy it so much that they will want to watch the film not once but many times. The film is releasing in theaters on 7th November, do go and watch it and laugh a lot. You can enjoy this film with the entire family.
Harshvardhan Singh Dev- This film has been made for everyone, elders and children, everyone can enjoy it. The story of this film is such that there are no forced jokes in it, but there are such situations that you will definitely laugh.
Sudesh Lehri- There is no forced comedy at all in this film. Things just move along with the story, which is going to be a very fun experience for the audience to watch.
