Apple’s AirPods will no longer be used only for listening to music and audio. According to the latest reports, the company can give its AirPods the biggest upgrade till date and equip them with an integrated infrared (IR) camera. With the addition of the camera, AirPods will be able to support many new AI-powered and mixed-reality features. If reports are to be believed, AirPods with camera may be launched next year. Let us know about this in detail.
What will the IR sensor do?
There are speculations that the AirPods Pro with camera will be equipped with an IR sensor. This will be like the TrueDepth system found in the iPhone, which will be able to track body and head movements along with understanding gestures. Due to this, its interaction with devices like Apple Vision Pro will become easier and the user will get an integrated experience. Apple plans to offer it as a more advanced option rather than replacing an existing model. The company has been designing its products for some time according to the needs and budget of different users. Recently, AirPods 4 was also launched in ANC and standard variants under the same planning.
There may be 5 models in the AirPods lineup next year
If everything goes as per planning, there will be a total of 5 models in the AirPod lineup next year. These will include AirPods Pro 3 with camera sensor, standard AirPods Pro 3, AirPods 4 (ANC support and standard) and AirPods Max models. Seen this way, along with more options, this could also be Apple’s most expensive AirPods lineup till date. Besides, this also shows that Apple is trying to strengthen its position in the wearable market through different products.
