A complaint has been filed against Congress MP Rahul Gandhi in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) of Muzaffarpur district. This matter is related to the alleged objectionable remarks made by Rahul Gandhi regarding Chhath festival and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha filed the complaint in the court on Wednesday. Accepting the case, the court has fixed the hearing date as November 11, 2025.
Advocate Ojha said that during a public meeting held in Muzaffarpur during the Bihar Assembly elections, Rahul Gandhi had made objectionable remarks regarding Chhath festival, which is a major festival associated with Hindu faith. Along with this, he also gave an indecent statement on Prime Minister Modi, which has hurt the religious sentiments of the people.

The complaint has been filed under sections 298, 356(2), 352 and 353 of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS) 2023. Ojha said that Chhath is a festival of our faith, we have taken refuge in the court regarding wrong statements on it and inappropriate remarks towards the Prime Minister. Accepting the case, the court has fixed the date of hearing on November 11.
