US President Donald Trump has ordered the Defense Ministry (Pentagon) to immediately start testing nuclear weapons. He said that this testing should be done at the same level as China and Russia.
Trump gave this information by posting on the social media platform ‘Truth Social’ on Wednesday. they wrote,
In view of the testing of other countries, I have ordered the Department of War to begin testing of our nuclear weapons on an equal basis. This process will start immediately.
This post has come at a time when Trump is scheduled to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea on Thursday. The purpose of this meeting of the two leaders is said to be to reduce the ongoing trade war.
Russia has tested nuclear powered missile
Russia tested a nuclear powered missile on October 21. Trump had called it a wrong move. He had said that Putin should stop the war instead of conducting missile tests.
Trump said that it will be 4 years of the war that is going to end in a week. They should pay attention to this.
Trump also claimed in his post that America has the largest number of nuclear weapons in the world. However, according to international data this claim is wrong. According to the ‘International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons’, Russia has the most, i.e. more than 5,500 nuclear warheads, while America has about 5,044.
The US last conducted a nuclear test on September 23, 1992 in Nevada. In the same year, then President George H.W. Bush had announced a ban on underground nuclear tests.
