Yograj Singh On Son Yuvraj Singh: Yuvraj Singh had made an important contribution in Team India winning the 2011 ODI World Cup. Yuvi was chosen Player of the Tournament in the World Cup. During this time, Yuvraj was diagnosed with cancer. Now his father Yograj Singh gave a big statement on his son’s cancer. He said that even if Yuvraj had died of cancer and India had won the World Cup, I would have been proud.
In an interview with Unfiltered with Samdish, Yograj Singh said, “For our country, even if Yuvraj Singh had died of cancer and given the World Cup to India, I would have been a proud father. I am still very proud of him. I told him this on the phone even when he was vomiting blood. I told him, ‘Don’t worry, you will win this World Cup.’
Further Yograj Singh said that if Yuvraj Singh had listened to him, he would have become a great cricketer. He said, “Yuvraj Singh, if he had worked even 10 percent as hard as his father, he would have become a great cricketer.”
Yuvraj Singh’s performance in 2011 World Cup
Yuvi had performed all-round for Team India in the 2011 World Cup. While batting in the tournament, he scored 362 runs at an average of 90.50. Apart from this, while bowling in 9 matches, he took 15 wickets at an average of 25.
Yuvraj Singh’s international career
It is noteworthy that Yuvraj Singh played 40 Tests, 304 ODIs and 58 T20 International matches in his international career. Scored 1900 runs in the test and took 9 wickets. Apart from this, he scored 8701 runs and took 111 wickets in ODIs. In the remaining T20 International, Yuvraj added 1177 runs and made 28 in his name.
