In the central government, the dearness allowance of more than one crore employees and pensioners ‘DA’ and inflation relief ‘DR’ has got a three percent increase. On Wednesday, the Union Cabinet has approved the proposal to increase the DA rates. The rate of dearness allowance payable from July 1 has now increased from 55 percent to 58 percent. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has given this information in the press briefing held after the cabinet meeting. Last year, the Central Government had increased the dearness allowance of employees on Diwali by three per cent in the dearness allowance and pensioners’ inflation relief, while the DA of central personnel was increased by two per cent from January 1 this year.
