His manager Siddharth Sharma and chief organizer of the Northeast India Festival (NEIF) have been arrested in the case of singer Zubeen Garg’s death in Singapore. The police gave this information on Wednesday.
A senior police officer said that Mahanta was arrested at Indira Gandhi International Airport while returning to Delhi from Singapore, while Sharma was arrested from an apartment in Gurugram. He said that both were brought to Guwahati in the early hours of Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Zubeen’s wife Garima Saikia Garg told reporters that they were relieved that both have been brought to Assam, because we are all waiting to know what happened in their last moments. Garima said that he has full confidence in the investigation team and it is expected that now the truth will be revealed soon what happened in Singapore.
The Assam government formed a ten -member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the death of Zubeen Garg on 19 September in Singapore. The team was headed by Special Director General of Police MP Gupta.

In the SIT, a notice was sent to the members of Mahanta, Sharma, Singapore Assam Union and other people who went to Singapore, in which they were asked to record the statement. Chief Minister Himanta Bisw Sarma had earlier told that a lookout notice was issued against Mahnta and Sharma through Interpol and was asked to appear before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) by October 6.
