Kumar Sanu left hungry in pregnancy
Kumar Sanu was forced to give his bungalow to Rita Bhattacharya. Rita was pregnant with her third son at that time. In a new interview, Rita Bhattacharya said that divorce had completely shocked her. He alleged that Sanu ‘tortured’ at the time, refused to give him food and medicines, and forced him to attend the court dates during pregnancy. He also alleged that Sanu had left his sons, and said that if Bal Thackeray had not been there, he would not get anything.
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Rita Bhattacharya remembered that Sanu used to send him 100 rupees per day after leaving the house. He said, ‘He ran away. The microwave and fan were also taken with them. After this, he stopped delivery of milk and medicines in the house, but fortunately, the milkman and the doctors kept coming. Rita used to eat food after stealing food
Rita said that during her pregnancy, she was not even given food. She could not move much due to her being ill, so she had to steal food in her own house, and had to depend on the help of a family friend. He said, ‘I secretly went down to the kitchen and used to take some lentils and rice, which I used to feed my two sons.’ Rita blamed this confrontation on Sanu’s sister. He said that he was enjoying Sanu’s success, before his sister came to live with her boyfriend, and it seems that he encouraged Sanu to protect his interests.
Bal Thackeray helped
Rita said that her divorce proceedings lasted for 8 years. During this time she kept living in the bungalow. He said, ‘He also got the electricity of the house cut.’ Rita further told that Bal Thackeray had read an interview in the newspaper and asked Raj Thackeray to call him Matoshree. Then Sanu was asked to leave the house for Rita and go out on his own. According to Rita, ‘I did not get justice anywhere. So I went to Bal Thackeray for justice. Rita also said that when Sanu was unemployed and used to sing songs for just 100 rupees, she supported her, she should get credit for this.
