A major accident occurred on the project site of the under -construction power company THDC at Hallung, Joshimath in Chamoli, Uttarakhand, where a large part of the mountain suddenly collapsed near the site. The accident took place on the diversion site of Vishnugad-Peepalkoti Hydroelectric Project being built on the banks of Alaknanda, where THDC’s assistant HCC company is working. Hundreds of laborers are engaged in work on this site. Suddenly at 11 am today, the mountain began to crack on this site.
It is being told that as soon as big stones were seen coming down from the mountain, there was chaos on the site and the workers started running around to save their lives.
