The roots of casteism are very deep in our society. Even though it has been more than 75 years since the country became independent, the change in thinking is still incomplete. Cinema is a mirror of society and when a film raises a serious subject like casteism, it is expected to force the audience to think.
‘Dhadak 2’ is also a similar effort. The film is inspired by the Tamil classic ‘Pariyarum Perumal’, which effectively showed caste injustice. But its effect in Hindi does not feel as sharp.
