After this, the total number of voters in the state has increased to about 7 crore 42 lakhs, which is about 18 lakh more than the draft list. According to the information given by the Commission, 65 lakh names were first removed from the draft list during this revision, which lasted from 24 June 2025 to 30 September 2025.

Apart from this, after 1 August, about 4 lakh more names were removed, due to which the total number reached 68.66 lakhs. Most of these were those who either moved permanently, were not in the list due to death or whose information could not be fully verified. The Commission has placed them in the category of ineligible voters.
At the same time, special attention was also paid to adding new voters during this process. In the claims and objections received by the Commission, about 37 thousand people had filled the form, most of which were included in the final list. In total, 21.53 lakh new voters have now become part of Bihar’s voter list. These new voters also include young voters who voted for the first time.

The Election Commission has made it clear that this entire exercise was done under Article 326 of the Constitution and this principle of the Commission. He said that no eligible voter should be missed and no ineligible voter should be included. If a eligible voter still wants to add his name, then he can apply till 10 days before the enrollment process starts.

At the same time, the next hearing on this matter is yet to be held in the Supreme Court. Where the Supreme Court can also express its opinion on these figures released by the Election Commission, but it is expected that Bihar will be the upcoming assembly elections on the basis of this voter list.
