The Central Government has announced to give the Union Home Minister Efficiency Medal to 1,466 police personnel across the country for the year 2025.  The Home Ministry said on Friday that these medals will be awarded to personnel of various states, union territories and central organizations.

Medals will be given for excellent performance in four categories
According to the official statement, this honor is given for the excellent work of police personnel, high professional standards and contribution in boosting morale. These medals will be given on the basis of excellent performance in four categories: special operations, investigation, intelligence work and forensic science.
Announcement is made on the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel
This medal was launched on 1 February 2024 and is announced every year on 31 October, the birth anniversary of the country’s first Home Minister, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The honor is given to officers of police forces, security organizations, intelligence units, special branches of states and union territories, central armed police forces, central police organizations and forensic science departments across the country.
