11th round of FTA Talks Between India and Eu Starts Today, Know Everything – Amar Ujala Hindi News Live

An official said that the two sides have agreed to complete the agreement in two phases due to the uncertain global trade environment, especially US President Donald Trump’s duty action. The official said, the EU team will be here for the 11th round of talks and the conversation will continue till 16 May.

The previous (10th) round talks focus on areas such as market access proposals in goods, services, investment and government procurement. Commerce Secretary Sunil Barthwal said last month that if some issues are not very important for business talks and are taking more time, it is better to focus on main trade issues in their place.

Talks on FTA moving in the right direction

Earlier, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal had discussed the progress of the agreement with EU’s Trade and Economic Security Commissioner Maros Sefkovic in Brussels. After which he said that talks on the proposed Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between India and the European Union (EU) are moving in the right direction. Both sides are making concrete progress for a balanced and mutual beneficial agreement. At the same time, Sephakovic had said that EU gives importance to its partnership with India. The EU is committed to carrying it to a new level through a commercially meaningful agreement to open market for goods and services.

Safekovic had said that in this era of global uncertainty, businesses of both regions want opportunities, access and certainty. We are working together to ensure this. Goyal had said that the teams of this group from India and 27 countries interacted on the agreement. We have reiterated a shared commitment to complete dialogue by the end of 2025.
